What To Do When Your Macbook Pro Fails

I have a Macbook Pro laptop which fell a short distance onto the floor. The design of the laptops is meant to allow the devices to be protected against that sort of problem by retracting the heads, but I cannot get the drive to boot up, and I can’t find it when I boot the laptop up from the CD. It seems to me that there is a serious problem about the hard drive.

Unfortunately, my Macbook Pro laptop was seriously damaged by someone. It was completely shredded, and I was given a new one to replace the old one by the culprit. The fact is, though, that I had some data on that laptop which was not saved anywhere else (I do scheduled saves each night). I want to get that information, including some photographs, from the hard drive.
