“Is the diagnostic free, and is the quote fixed?” If a quote can increase once your hard drive has been opened then that was never a quote. Our quotes will be the same number as we agree upon prior to beginning our work with you and they will remain that way.
“Do you charge a percentage of anything?” Percentage-based pricing creates an incentive for a recovery company to have you believe that there are ways in which you will be able to recover your data; and it creates an interest in how much money your data may ultimately be worth. We do not use percentage pricing. Our fees are fixed, and we have no stake in anything recovered from your media.
“What can’t you recover?” This is probably the most valuable of all four. If someone can't tell you this, they are either new to data recovery, or simply unwilling to admit something. Our answer is also on nearly every page of this website.
“Who actually does the work?” Some UK data recovery companies outsource their work to other firms. That means additional individuals will touch your data, as well as multiple transports of your media, each with its own risk of loss/damage. All of our work is done in house.
