The diagnostic is normally back inside 48 hours, and can be same-day on an urgent job dropped in early. From approval, a logical recovery on healthy hardware often completes in a day or two — there is no imaging bottleneck when the drive reads normally.
Physical work runs at the pace the hardware allows. A donor drive has to be sourced and matched exactly, and imaging a deteriorating surface takes as long as it takes — sometimes days, in graduated passes with the drive rested between them. Array work adds every member imaged before reconstruction can begin.
Priority handling moves you to the front and lets us read the directories you need first. It cannot make a failing drive read faster, and where it will not help we say so rather than take the premium.
