Cryptocurrency wallet file recovery in Manchester.

There is a clear line here and it is worth knowing before you spend anything. A wallet file on a failed, formatted or wiped drive is ordinary data recovery. A lost seed phrase or forgotten password is not a recovery problem at all — it is a cryptographic fact, and no laboratory changes it.

If you have lost the seed phrase, nobody can help — including us.

A seed phrase is not a password stored somewhere for retrieval. It is the mathematical basis of the wallet itself. Without it, and without a wallet file, the coins exist on the blockchain and are permanently unreachable. Any firm suggesting otherwise is not describing something real.

// what we can and cannot do

The honest split, before you spend anything.

This is the clearest line on this site and it is worth stating first.

What is recoverable: a wallet file that was deleted, sitting on a failed or formatted drive, or on media that no longer mounts. That is ordinary data recovery applied to a particular file, and it works exactly as it would for any other document — wallet.dat, keystore files, an exported private key, or an encrypted vault you still hold the password to.

What is not: a forgotten seed phrase, a forgotten wallet password, a hardware wallet PIN, or coins sent to the wrong address. None of those are recovery problems. They are cryptographic facts, and no laboratory, no equipment and no amount of money changes them.

// four situations

Which one are you in?

Prospects vary enormously and the diagnostic establishes which applies before you commit to anything.

// how it is handled

Discreetly, and without custody.

The practical arrangements, which matter more here than on most jobs.

The drive is imaged read-only and everything happens against the copy. Wallet files, keystores and exported keys are located by signature and by name across the whole image including unallocated space, then returned to you on fresh encrypted media.

We do not take custody of coins, do not require access to any wallet, and do not need to know what a wallet holds — nor do we want to. Our involvement ends when the file is back in your hands. NDAs are signed as standard, and the work is priced as a recovery job rather than as a percentage of anything, because a percentage arrangement gives a recovery firm reasons that have nothing to do with your interests.

// pricing

£300 +VAT, and never a percentage.

Priced as data recovery, because that is what it is.

A single drive is from £300 +VAT after a free 48-hour diagnostic, with most jobs no fix, no fee. The price does not change with what the wallet turns out to contain, and we take no share of anything recovered.

That matters. A firm charging a percentage has an interest in the value of your wallet and in you believing recovery is possible. A fixed fee removes both, and it means the free diagnostic can tell you honestly that there is nothing to be done — which, where a seed phrase has been lost, is the answer.

// getting it to us

Getting it to the bench.

Get the device to us with a short note on what happened. The diagnostic that follows costs nothing, and the figure that follows it is fixed in writing before any work begins.

1

Post it, or drop it in

Nothing can begin until the device is on the bench, which makes this the only step that needs anything from you. Pack it properly, put your details in with it, and send it over. What follows is a free diagnostic and a written figure, in that order.

Packing it properly
  • A small rigid box or a padded envelope — and an anti-static bag if one is to hand, though a food bag will do at a push.
  • Leave the caddy, cables and power supply at home. None of it is needed to read the drive, and it only adds weight.
  • Put your name, address, phone number and email inside the box — on paper, or on the shipping form below.

Posting it? Use something tracked and insured — whatever is on the drive is worth considerably more than the postage. Bringing it in? Weekdays, 9am to 5:30pm, and it still wants packing as above for the journey.

2

Not ready to send it?

Tell us what the device is, what it is doing, and anything already tried — an engineer will come back with a realistic view of the odds and a price band, before you commit to posting anything.

Every enquiry is read by an engineer rather than a form-handler, and most get an answer inside the hour on a working day. Would rather speak to someone? 0161 871 0788.

Got it — that’s with an engineer.

We’ll be in touch shortly. If it’s urgent, call 0161 871 0788.

// questions

Wallet recovery — your questions.

What people most often ask about cryptocurrency wallet recovery.

If the wallet file was on a drive that failed, was formatted, or where the file was deleted — yes, that is ordinary data recovery. If you have lost the seed phrase or the wallet password, no, and nobody else can either.

No. The seed phrase is the mathematical basis of the wallet rather than a password stored somewhere for retrieval. Without it there is no file and no key to recover. We will not charge you to confirm that.

Possibly. We run professional password recovery against encrypted wallet files — GPU-accelerated tooling testing candidates at speed, guided by whatever you remember of the password. It works on short, reused or partly-recalled passwords and fails against a long random one. Tell us what you can recall and we will say honestly what the odds look like.

Never. It is priced as a data recovery job at a fixed fee. A percentage arrangement gives a recovery firm an interest in your wallet’s value and in you believing recovery is possible, and neither serves you.

No. We recover the file and return it to you on fresh encrypted media. We take no custody of coins, need no access to any wallet, and have no interest in what it holds.

From £300 plus VAT for a single drive after a free 48-hour diagnostic, with most jobs no fix, no fee. The price does not vary with what the wallet contains.
